POST Thur»., July M, 1966 (Sec. 2) Service Linen Punch Card Offers Moon I ite Prizes Here are the details on how to qualify for special merchan­ dise prizes to be given away by Sandy merchants during Fri­ day night’s Moonlite Sale. Hiring the sale hours, cer­ tain merchants will issue pos­ tal-size cards to all custom­ ers making a minimum pur­ chase of $1.00 or more. The names of eight stores will be In separate boxes on the cards. The customer should then take his card to each of the other stores and have it punched. When fully punched, return the card to the merchant who issued it - and you will win a free prize. Prizes will range from five cent items to valuable mer­ chandise, but everyone will win something. So that you may have ample time in which to shop, once your card is fully punched on Friday night you have until the stores close on Saturday to redeem it for your prize. Many of the special Moon­ lite values will continue ansale through Saturday, but your cards must be punched on Fri­ day night during the Moonlite hours from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. Moonlite punch cards may be obtained from any of the fol­ lowing merchants: Brewster’s Dept. Caanon, whose wife, Du ri »ne and mother, Mrs. Gladys Cannon, live in bandy, completed a radio relay and carrier operation ccairse at the Army South­ eastern Signal School, Fort Gordon, Ga., July 1. During the 12-week course, Private Cannon learned to op­ erate different types of field teleph<«e, telegraph and radio relay equipment. 1st 5 The guest speaker at the Sandy Seventh-day Adventist Church Saturday, JUly 9, was Pastor Curtis Miller, a mis­ sionary recently returned from Turkey. Miller Is a nativeOre- gonlan , and his wife, Phyllis, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John B. Edwards of Sandy. The Millers have three young daughters who, with their par­ ents, appeared on the platform dressed in Turkish costumefor the Sabbath School mission story. Their many friends filled the church for the 11 o'clock ser­ vice when Pastor Miller re­ lated many Interesting stories of their trip to Istanbul, their difficulties In getting through customs and experiences during the five years of their mission­ ary service. The main theme of Miller's sermon was the love of God in giving us a Savior and His promise to come again. Mt. Hood Jaycees Seek Members The Mt. Hood Jaycees, who are reorganizing and seeking new members for their club, will have an orientation meet­ ing on Wednesday, July 20, at 8 p.m. at the Sandy Gun Club. All men between the ages of 21 and 35 who are interested In learning more about the Jay- cee program are invited, with their wives, to join in the pot­ luck dinner meeting. Jaycettes and Jaycee wives are alsourged to attend this meeting. The program will consist of a slide show and the story of the Jaycees. Guest speakers will include Claude “Bud” Smith, national director; Harris Hansen, state president; Gil­ bert “Red” Merlyn, state vice president; and the Jaycee orien­ tation team from Hillsboro.
