M. to 8 P. M. on June 1, 1986, at Sandy Elementary School in said school district, for the purpose of submitting to the legal voters of said district the question of increasing the tax levy for the fiscal year 1966- 1967 over the amount limited by section 11, article XI, of the Constitution of Oregon. The reasons for increasing such levy are: Our District has no base -- it was absorbed by the Intermediate Education District. All money levied above receipts is therefore above constitutional limits and must be voted. The amount of tax, in excess of the 6% limitation proposed to be levied for said fiscal year is $228,124.28. Dated this 9th day of May, 1966. ATTEST: JOHN POWELL, Chairman Board of Directors D. E. Recreation Report— Columbia Gorge ROA Lt The high mountain roads are slowly opening up this year. The heavy snow pack is really hanging on. The snow level is around 4,000 ft. and no roads are open in the high elevations. TRAILS The stream clearing at Wah- keena Falls really went good. The 125 ton rock that fell into the stream on the 19th of April reduced down with five shots of dynamite, and a C-6 cat did a beautiful job clearing the stream bed. Work is being done now on the rocks above the Wah- keena trail and will soon be completed. High mountain trails are still snow blocked. CAMPGROUNDS Vandalism, OHf How they tore up our recreation areas this year. Why don’t you folks help us stop some of this? If you see someone throwing beer bottles, knocking out mirrors and lights, shooting holes in things, take down their descrip tion, car license numbers, etc. Then turn it in to the U. S. Forest Service. We must catch these fellows and many of them are repeaters. We have the F.B.L and the State Highway Patrol working with us, but we really need your sion to hunt and help him. KEEP THE GATES CLOSED! FISHING It looks like the trout will have a longer vacation in the high mountain lakes. The snow is holding the fishermen back. They will just be larger when you get these fellows. FIRE DANGER South and easterly winds are drying the forest floor out mighty fast. The fire danger is going up rapidly. The “Fire Danger” is “Moderately High.” WEATHER Thunderhead type clouds with possible lightning west of the Cascades.
