The Sandy Pioneers return

basektball action tonight
they entertain

Oregon City contest the team
has shown a decided weakness
on the backboards. B. Jackley
suffered a broken foot during
pre-season practice and has
been out of the opening con­
tests. If able to play he will
take over the center d u ties
for the squad.
Members of the basketball
squad travelled to Oregon City
recently to observe them In
action against Columbia River
non-conference tilt. On Tues.
day, Jan. 4, they open the Wilco
game against Wy’east.
That
contest «rill be played on the
Sandy court also.
Coach Nick F bertaon hopes
to have veteran iwtterman Brock
Jackley back in action for the
high of Washington. In that tilt
the OC squad was beaten on
a last second field goal. Com­
menting on them Robertson said
“They’re tough”. OC is con­
sidered a pre-season favorite
to capture the TV League hoop
crown.
With B. Jackley back in the
lineup at center the Sandy squad
will have Ron Verdoorn and
Stan Dobson at the forward
