Int.rwcflon of Highway U and Main Straat In Sandy aarliar this wook 3 Interest Grows In (Peat Photo) Mountaineer Festival Interact la growing In the Mountaineer Festival scheduled in Sandy for the weekend of July 9-11 under the sponsorship of the ML Hood Jaycees. A member of the group re­ ported this week that a phone call was received from Seat­ tle , Wash, requesting informa­ tion and where to sign-up for the go - cart races that will be held here. Following re­ turn of the requested Informa­ tion the fellow on the other end of the line closed by saying "we’ll be seeing you in a cou­ ple of weeks.” The phone call revealed that four or five go - cart enthu­ siasts were Interested in com­ peting. Ttils should add even more Interest tn this event which is jountly sponsored by the Jaycees and Damascus Rev- N-Ride, Inc. group. Go - cart racing will be held on July 10 and 11. Numerous concession booths have been reserved and will be open for business at the start of the festival. A carnival has been arranged for and will pro­ vide rides and entertainment for many. Another added attraction this year will be square dancing for the first time. Dancers from nearby square dancing clubs will be on hand It is reported. The annual street dance will begin at 9 p. m. on July 10. There will be skydiving In abundance at thia year’s fest­ ival. Competition avt.iU will be taking place among skydiving clubs in the nearby vicinity and promises to provide plenty of thrills.
