HELLO again, all you lovely,
lovely people!
I hope you were aware of
my absence and that you missed
me much!
However, I must in all honesty
admit, that I was able to enjoy
my
vacation without a qualm
of remorse or even a twinge of
regret. That I left you suddenly
"snooperless”, bothered me nary
a whit! Shame, shame on me!
(Actually, it was only the "chore
of writing this column that
I didn’t miss.)
Who could possibly leave our
old mountain and not want to re
turn in a hurry? "Yours truly”
manages to make it as far as
Salem and Bend before the yearn
ing to be back in Hood-Land
sets in! And I’d be willing to bet
that most of you feel exactly the
same way! Aw come on, admit it.
<Y-T” spent a week of lavish
dining in San Franslsco and still
has the extra poundage to prove
it!
The big discovery of this trip,
was Sally Stanford’s Valhalla in
Sausalito. Decorated in Victorian
splendor with a magnificent view
of the city, Sally, a notorious
madam of days gone by, sits In
an ancient dental chair with a
parrot on her shoulder to greet
the guests as they enter Valhalla.
On top of all this "atmosphere”
the food is out of this world.
So is the Twist! You might as
well tie doing the Charleston. A
few people are still in the Watusl
and Frog stage of the dance (Did
I say Dance?) but the Swim is
the big thing for sure. Swim con
tests are the rage in Frisco and
everyplace else. (It was slightly
similar to Dates Lymps’ Rhod
odendron Hop.)
In L.A. the place to go is the
"Whiskey -a-go-go", while the
current "tn” place in Las Vegas
is the "Pussy-Cat-a-go-go”! (It’s

After looking around for about a
year for a retirement home to out
liking, we heard an announcement
on the radio that a group of Sev
•nth Day Adventijh would build a
retirement home at this address,
180th and Powell Blvd. We immedi
ately investigated, as this was a
perfect location for us,- close to
shopping areas and convenient to
many large east side shopping cen
ters.
We realized that some day driv
ing a car would be difficult and the
bus tran'oortation here was very
satisfactory.
We have been here over a year
and we know that we made the
right decision.
