(Picture on Page 1 Bowling for Dew Drop Betty Spink bowled a hot 641 handi­ cap series to take the trophy in last Sunday’s roll-off for bowler of the week. Betty’s average was 134 and her scratch series 516. She was qualified for the event by team mate Audrey (Olson. Otto Motejl who bowls for Pioneer Real Es­ tate qualified himself for the weekly contest and then went on to win with u 541 scratch series to which he added 110 pins handicap for a total of 651. Otto's entering average was 158. Pioneer defense had a rough time trying to stop Butch Woodward on Reynold’s field Oct. 23. The Lancers scored every time they got their hands on the ball in the first half, rolling to a 26- 6 half time lead. Jerry McLain rambled 64 yards on the second play of the game with Brock Jaekley and Jon Sand­ strom throwing a couple of timely blocks for the Pioneer cause. Woodward along with Mike Pad­ dock and Gary Kostrala moved the ball to Sandy’s 15 yard line. From this distance Reynolds Is danger­ ous to any team with Woodward’s golden toe the big threat. But Craig Carpenter elected to pass, hitting Joe Lundy right on the bull’s eye. Woodward booted the extra point. Mike Devecka took the kick off to his own 40 where the Buck’s lost the ball on a fumble. Car­ penter moved the Lancers to the Pioneer 25 and hit Lundy with a carbon copy pass for the second score. Woodward added the PAT. Woodward sent the kick off deep to Sandy’s five where McLain was able to bring the ball out to the 20. Four plays later Dale Phelps was forced to punt. Carpenter used up 10 plays before spotting a re­ ceiver in the end zone. Woodward added his third straight extra point of the game. George Llenkaemper was stop­ ped on his own 15 by Woodward and the Bucks got no further than own 32 before having to punt again. Mike Deboise took over quarter­ backing chores and passed the Lan­ cers down to the Sandy 2 1/2. Kostraba pushed over for the score. The attempt for a bonus failed. In the second half, the Bucks slowed them down a little, re­ covering three fumbles including a Woodward fumble in the end zone. Kostraba sped 45 yards for the Lancers final score.________ ____ Mike Monaghan and Mike Burg finished two and three behind Ran­ dy Jewel of Reynolds, with John Bogart, Andy Hartman and Ken Enz filling In scoring gaps farther back. Reynolds captured the District title with the Pioneers only six points out of the lead with 48 points nabbing second place.Scap­ poose grabbed third with Jesuit close on their heels.
