Government payments to farmers in 1964 are expected to reach $2.1 billion, or 17 per cent of an anticipated net income of $12.3 billions. During January- May of this year, payments to­ taled $553 million, nearly 1 1/2 times the $371 million paid dur­ ing the same time a year ago.
