A caravan of automobiles left Adventists Plan Meeting Pastor Ira D. Follett of the Sandy Seventh-day Adventist church, left for Gladstone this week to help prepare for the church’s 86th annual campmeeting In the Oregon conference which convenes July 9. Pastor Follett Is joining more than 100 ministers, Bible in structors, and other employees from the Oregon conference at the Gladstone camp site to help ready the grounds for the influx of 12,- 000 persons. Facilities at the 72 acre camp ground owned by the church In clude 1300 tents, 400 cabins and two trailer parks. In addition to eight large meeting tents and aud itoriums, living areas must be prepared for the convocation. Ministerial study periods and worship sessions will also lie held during the days of preparation. Hydrofoil boats are not new. It is hoped that from the re- Kathy Smith, Nancy Jordan Visit Sandy Kathy Smith, 12, the daughter of Mrs. Helen Smith, formerly of Sandy, is visiting her grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. Q. M. Rader of Sandy, for the month of July. The Smiths moved from Sandy to San Diego a year ago. Coming up with her on the bus last Friday was Miss Nancy Jor dan, 17, of Sandy. Nancy is home for the summer with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jordan, af ter spending last year at El Capi tan high school in San Diego. After her visit, Nancy will return to San Diego to work for the United Community Service. Mrs. Smith, the mother of Kathy, works there also. Hood Lions Hold Swim Classes Don’t forget swimming lessons starting July 6 sponsored by the Lion’s club, at Cook’s Motel in Brightwood. Lion Ed Cook is do nating the use of his pool for this project. Also anyone unfortunate enough to need the use of a hospital bed can obtain one from the Lions club. The bed was donated to the Lions Club for community use by Clyde Hllley of Brightwood. 1,000Attend Wemme Chuckwagon Breakfast The chuckwagon breakfast and ham and turkey shoot, held July 4-5 at Wemme, was a big suc cess. Around 1,000 people were served breakfasL There were 405 individual shoots. 40 hams or tur keys were won. Over 300 lbs. of bacon and sau sage were used. 2000 eggs, 10 gals, of syrup, 100 lbs. of flap jack flour, and 100 gallons of cof fee were served. Jack Jancan was in charge of the breakfast. Cooks were Don Av ery, Moon Mullen, Bill Radford, Merrill Bartruff, Wes Moehnke, Bill Steinbarger, Glenn Roberts, Louis Phelps, Chuck Mesklmen, Chuck Hickey, Forrest Henderson and Bert Stauffer. Roger Frazier was in charge of the shoots, with Kay Randell doing the selling. Bob Mansfield took care of the background music and Don Cham berlain and Joe Woodie presided over the cash register. Jim Col lier, Gene Collier and Joe Hill end assisted with the shoots and the juice bar. C. Wheeler residence on Sandy Heights. The occasion was a bri dal shower. Included in the 34 guests were her mother, Mrs. Ray Godleske, and Mrs. Ernest Coon, the moth er of her fiance, Gary Coon. After refreshments were serv ed by Linda Campbell, Mrs. Karen Rigley gave an appropri ate reading. Judy received many gifts. Hos tesses were Joy Johnson, Jerry Winslow and Winifred Wheeler.
