FINEST, FRESHEST HOLIDAY PRODUCE!
CELERY
APPLES
The spirit of Christmas is in the
an. The manger scene is placed
on the piano surrounded by fir
boughs. How good they smell! The
tree is decorated and the stock
ings are hung. A fire crackles in
the fireplace and gives a glow to
the happy goings-on in the living
and dining rooms as packages
are wrapped and Christmas cards
are addressed.
It’s time for inviting aromas
to start flowing from the kitchen.
With this in mind I am giving
some cookie recipes this week.
First, I will give three rather
plain but very delicious recipes for
our friends who have to be care
ful of their diets and cannot eat
nuts or fruits.
The deacons of the Community
Presbyterian church are sponsor
ing the gathering and packing of
small boxes of cookies for the 106
patients in our rest homes and
hospital in the Sandy area. If you
would like to share a dozen or two
of your favorite plain cookies,
please leave them at the church
on Sunday, Dec. 22, or Monday
morning, Dec. 23. Each patient
will also receive a bouquet of
holly.
