BEEK IS A NATURAL
From nature's light grain comes sparkling, light beer. . .
Oregon's traditional beverage of moderation —it’s light,
sparkling, delicious.
And naturally, the Brewing Industry in Oregon is proud
of the more than one million tax dollars it contributes to
the state of Oregon each year—money that helps support
our schools, our hospitals and our parks. In Oregon, beer
belongs —enjoy it.

Nell's Notes
Lee Bishop is home from her
trip. She had a wonderful time,
and was sorry she had to leave so
soon, but decided that she would
still rather live in Oregon.
Leona Purdy has opened the
Hill-Top Cafe again. It is open
every day but Wednesday from 7
a.m. to 8 p.m. It is wonderful to
see the lights on at the Hill-Top
again, and I know that most of the
mountain will be in at one time or
another. Love those pies!
Now I can catch upon that hour’s
sleep that I lost last summer. Got
my clock set back to where it be
longs and have been enjoying every
minute of it. I hope next year that
they will leave the time alone.
Seems to me that if people want
to go to work an hour early that
they should do that and leave the
time alone. I might as well get my
other gripe in while I’m griping.
Now they will try to shove a sales
tax down our throats. The idea may
be OK, but they plan to leave us
stuck with all the other taxes we
pay already. Oh well, it remains
to be seen. But I am “agin” it.
There were five tables of dup
licate bridge at the Mt. Hood Coun
try Club bridge club on Monday,
October 21.
The Howell system of duplicate
was played, so the winners were
first, second and third. The top
two teams were from the Hoodland
area: first, Mrs. Gladys Deming
and Mrs. R. a . Owen; second, Mr.
and Mrs. George Lienkaemper;
third, Merrill Joy and Mrs. Cath
erine Groshong, both of Portland.
November 4th is Master-Point
