A recent service was held for
the graduates who attend Sandy
Baptist Chapel. Each graduate
told of his future summer and
fall plans. Walter Whitlock sang
a solo representing the gradu­
ates The message was "A
Grad's Motto" with Proverbs
4:5, 6 as the suggested motto
for the graduate's life.
Following the evening service
a reception was given in their
honor Each graduate was pre­
sented with a gift from the
church.
Those honored were David
Ziemer. David Russell, Marilyn
Mitchell. Jack Waibel. Walter
Whitlock, Sheila Moffett, Mike
Mattox. Sandra Leathers, Stan
work and other domestic work.
Many are also registered for
clerical, sales, agricultural,
service, camp counselor and
other full and part time sum­
mer work.
The
Employment
Service
last summer placed more than
6.750 young people on non-agri-
cultuial jobs. These jobs helped
many to finance their continued
education
The number of
young people seeking summer
work has increased significantly
this year
The need for employers to
open up employment for these
qualified young people is ur­
gent. The Employment Serv­
ice urges employers to call
their summertime jobs to 656-

It was noted that during this
club year the fiftieth anniver-
sry was celebrated with a
special tea, a new hardwood
floor was put in the main
club hall, and many fine books
were added to the Sandy Pub­
lic Library. The program com­

cationing in Victoria, B.C. with
Miss Crissy Cole.
College Sets
History Tour

ments for the popular North­
west History Tour, sponsored
as a summer credit course by
the Oregon College of Educa­
tion are still available, accord­
ing to an announcement by Dr.
Gary L. Huxford, who will lead
the tour this year.
A 2400-mile tour by private
bus which will afford mem­
bers an opportunity to become
acquainted with the Columbia
Basin portion of the Pacific
Northwest, the group will be
limited to 33 members, Dr.
Huxford said.
Tour members will see the
juniper and ponderosa pine
forests of central Oregon, old
mining areas in eastern Ore­
gon and Idaho, eastern and
central Washington.
