ure at the state legislature
during a Tuesday night meet­
ing at Wemme Lions hall
Walt Blaisdell, one of those
present, said the consensus was
that the bill is discriminatory
to out - of - Portland business­
es. especially at resort and
tourist areas. The bill would
make for an inconvenience to
consumers, he added.
Customers could buy grocer­
ies at a store like his. Blais­
dell. but couldn't buy on Sun­
day from another counter in
his store that might have
plumbing or garden supplies
for sale.
