G overnor Mark H atfield W ednesday urged all O regonians
to observe the Red Hat Day pledge as they enjoy the sta te 's
forests a n d fields, especially the 300,000 h u n ters, who a re
expected to be licensed.
O regon's a n n u al Red H at Days observance com m enced
Sept. 15. As part of a year-long "Good Outdoor M anners’’
program , em phasis is on hunting safety, ami reducing the
incidence of m an-caused fires and property dam age, H a t­
field said.
