ment was attended by 52 chil­
dren and 22 mothers Wednesday
February 13 from 2 to 4 p.m. in
the annex of the church. Games
were played, valentines ex­
changed, and refreshments con­
sisting of valentine cookies,
punch and candy were served.
All children were pre-school age.

dy, to Leonard Fuerstenau, son
of Mr, and Mrs. Emil Fuerste­

Miss Gundermann is primary
teacher at the Immantiel Luth­
eran school. She attended Con­
cordia College in River Forest
a suburb of Chicago, Illinois’
where she received her teacher’s
training.
Leonard is a graduate of San­
dy Union high school and attend­
ed Behnke-Walker business col­
lege in Portland. He is now
employed by S. P. & S. railroad
in Portland.

Who Is A Christian?
In pursuit, a Christian is a follower of Christ He is one
who has obeyed the commandments of Jesus Christ to have
his sins remitted or forgiven. Jesus said, “He that believeth
and is baptized shall be saved. Peter said, “Repent and be
baptized for. the remission of your sins.” Then Jesus said,
If any man would come after, me, let him deny himself and
take up his cross and follow me.” In knowledge, a Christian
is a disciple or learner of Christ. “Study to show thyself
approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ash­
amed j. . .” 2 Tim. 2:15. In faith a Christian is a believer.
Be thou an ensample to them that believe, in word, in man­
ner of life, in love, in faith, in purity.” 1 Tim. 4:12. In
character, a Christian is a Saint. A Christian cannot be de­
clared a saint by man, but is a saint when he is following
Christ. Paul called the Christians at Corinth, saints. A
saint is one who has been sanctified. “Christ also loved the
Church, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify
it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the
