Rock Graves
Battle Rock, at the south
end of Port O rford, scene of
the battle between nine white
men and local Indians, Is the
site of three graves. Ralph E.
(la k e ) Summers (18 15-1909),
one of the nine men In the bat­
tle, his wife Betsy (1839-1904)
and son, Ralph, J r ., are burled
there.
The Rock Is reached easily
from the beach and a w e ll-

Cemetery
The historic Tichenor fam ily
private cemetery Is the final
resting place of the founder

B. Tichenor, and his fam ily.
The cemetery Is located high
atop a hill overlooking the city,

Ocean. The cemetery road Is
located about halfway up the
