Francisco Bay Area, will be
shown at the Coos Art Museum
February 6 through 23. These
exhibitions are brought to Coos
Bay through the Statewide Ser
vices division of the Museum
of Art, University of Oregon,
and are being arranged by Mrs.
Dale Hansen of Coos Bay.
The Statewide Services pro
grams are made possible by
cooperation between public and
private agencies. The Friends
of the Museum, a supporting
organization of the Museum of
Art with membership open to
all interested persons, wer<
among the first to recognize
the state responsibilities of
the Museum of Art, and under
took to meet them. With the
aid of the Federal Work-Study
Program, the National Endow
ment for the Arts through the
Oregon Arts Commission, and
the University of Oregon, the
Statewide Services division was
created. During its five years
of operation, Statewide Services
has completed over 200 exhibi
tions, demonstrations, and
workshops in at least 45 dif
ferent Oregon communities.
