Forming a caravan, the group viewed the BLM lands and Tillamook burn. The com missioner reported that the ses sion was both interesting and in formative. An order hiring Penny L. Col vin as clerk steno 1, in the road department office was approved by the board of commissioners. An agreement between the county and U. S. Plywood Cor poration for gravel removal at a c o s t of 15 cents per cubic yard, to be effective August 1, 1969, was approved. Si Cox and Fred Jeeter of the S t a t e Highway Commission m et with the county commis sion to discuss the new beach law and presented the county with a ’one map of Curry coun ty. The Welfare Commission met in regular session w ith com missioners Tucker, Hale a n d Colegrove,and Grace McKenzie, Welfare board member fro m Port Orford, and Betsey Machi nes, administrator of the Wel fare division. The board m et with the road department Wednesday after noon. Attending were commis sioners Tucker and Hale, and Bruce Shaner, county engineer and Ed S y p h e r, construction foreman. It was reported that the fair grounds road and other requests made by the fair board will be ready by fair time. Third street project, city of Gold Beach, is nearing comple tion. Two Injured In Head-On Two men were injured and the drivers of b o th cars were given citations as the result of a head-on collision on Floras Creek road about 5:30 p. m .last Friday night near th e Lloyd Kreutzer farm. Playing in the big event were Eddie Peterson,Brock Bean, Cor dera Nice, Joe Bens, Billy Sharp, Billy Carr, Toni Morrison, Don Mayea, David Schroeder, Rich Almeida, Rick Lambert, Randy McCune, Robert Boggs and Jim Doughtery.
