Record Crowd A t Motorcycle Event
The Boondocker Motorcycle
Club of Port Orford, led by
president Bruce Segulne, tro -
pnled In all three events at the
third Hlllcllmb Moto Cross
meet Sunday at Delmar, eight
miles southeast of Coos Bay on
Highway 42, sponsored by the
Coos Bay Racing Association.
F irst event of the afternoon
was a 75 degree hill climb over
a 230-foot uphill course.
Second event was a hillside
Moto C ross race of nine. 6-lap
heats over a quarterm ile c ir­
cuit.
Final event of the day was
a three-m an team tag relay
race on the quarterm ile stretch.
The next Delmar event will be
the weekend following Port Or­
ford’s Hlllcllmb July 5, spon­
sored by the Boondockers
Motorcycle Club.

LACK OF ACTION
STALLS BILLS
The House Bill Is HR 1048,
Introduced by Congressman
John Dlngell and Joseph Karth.
The Senate version Is S670, In­
troduced by Sen. Lee Metcalf.
So far, these bills are stalled
for lack of action, and a re likely
to remain so unless sportsmen
push them with enthusiasm and
Insistence.
POISON IVY
Polson Ivy or poison oak,
as It Is known to many, Is
something to be avoided by
everyone. Many persons Im­
agine themselves entirely Im­
mune from Its effects, but do
not rely too much on “ natural
Immunity."
Many persons do have re-

Langlois-Port Orford area fin­
ished among the top three places
In the recent m oto-cross cycle
races, sponsored by the Boon-
dockers Motorcycle Club.
Local winners Include: Buddy
Davis and Bobby Sweet, Port
Orford, first and second, be­
ginner’s class;
Tony Hefner, Langlois, 2nd,
100 cc - expert class;
Ron Roberts of Sixes and Ray
Creson, Port Orford, 1st and
3rd, 250 cc class;
David M orrill of Sixes and
T erry Holmqulst, Port Orford,
1st and 3rd, open class;
Ron Roberts, Sixes, 1st,
sweepstakes.
A team of Port Orford Boon-
dockers, Ron Roberts, Juston
Potter and David M orrill, all
of Sixes, won the $10 team race
prize.
An estimated 150 persons
attended the race.
The next race will be July 27
starting at 12 noon, with the
slgn-in tim e between 9 and 11
a.m. Spectator admission is $1
per person, and the rid er fee
is $3.
