Firearms May
Be Outlawed
Folk Siegers To Make Appearances
EASTER
The Game Commission ad­
vised h u n t e r s that firearm s
could be outlawed In the national
forests except during hunting
seasons, If the recommenda­
tions of a citizen's advisory
committee are followed by the
Department of Agriculture.
Under the committee’s pro­
posal, firearm s would have to
be cased while on public do­
main administered by the For­
est Service except during hunt­
ings seasons or on established
shooting ranges.
If Clifford M. Hardin, Sec­
retary of Agriculture, should
follow the recommendations,
Oregon hunters will not be af­
fecte'! too much, according to
the Commission, because of the
year-long open season on non­
game animals, predators, and
rabbits.

Day’’ at Emmanuel Episcopal
church in Coos Bay. The meet­
ing was conducted by Rev.
Mother Ruth, Superior of the
Community of the Holy Spirit,
In New York, who visited in the
Diocese of Oregon from March
21 to 27.

“ New life of the Sprit” .
KEELERS VACATION
On Sunday beginning spring
vacation the Floyd Keeler fam­
ily of Port Orford took their
travel trailer and enjoyed a
trip up the north coast, going
as far as Long Beach, Wash.,
and stopping at Newport, and
other towns, spending two days
In Astoria. They all were In­
terested in the undersea gar­
dens, aquariums, museums,
finding the museum at Tilla­
mook one that they would urge
everyone to visit.
On the return trip they visit­
ed Mrs. Keeler’s mother at
Lebanon, returning home Sun­
day.
