Catches the past week have been only fair along the bars but hopes are high that as water conditions improve, so will the fishing. Hunter Creek: Steelhead b e gan moving into the stream in fair numbers on Friday and good catches were being taken under the old highway bridge during high tide on eggs. The stream has been clearing fast this year and just might be a real hot spot as it recovers. Pistol River: Excellent over the weekend with 10 lim its re ported by 10 a. m. on Sunday. The ra in will undoubtedly chase many of the fish upstream but it sure should be worth a try when it clears. Chetco River: Steadily im proving and fishing was almost good on Sunday. Best catches were between \ustenburg Bar and Loeb Park. The rain could effect the stream either way.
