ABOUT PROPERTY TAXES
In Oregon, property taxes are
Levied, collected and used lo
cally, and like many other states,
local costs of public services
have risen rapidly.
M. D. Thomas, Oregon State
University Extension economist,
suggested that Oregonians might

some other local levy to sup

should such taxes be collected
on a state or local level?
¡'State and federal aids have
increased, but many local boards
have resorted to non-property
taxes as sources of revenue, "
said Thomas. "Others are study

"In Oregon, with sim ilar leg -
