HAINESES ARE HOSTS Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Haines had a visit recently with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Miller of Mar­ tinez, who had many pictures of their trip abroad. The Millers flew each way and took 35 days for the trip, Joining a tour group of about 40 people with whom they traveled all of the time in Europe. Port Orford BPW Hosts Summer Board Members of the Port Orford Business and Professional Women’s Club wish to thank the local citizens, motels and places of business for the royal welcome extended to guests on Saturday and Sunday, members of the state executive board. Every state officer and chair­ man, each club president and vice president are members of this board and representatives from almost every club In Ore­ gon came to Port Orford for this meeting. Many Important committee meetings were held in the rooms of the president and her of­ ficers and important business was presented at every session. Saturday evening a social hour was held at the Legion Hall, sponsored by Coos-Curry Elec­ tric Co-op, followed by a ban­ quet at the Masonic Hall with food provided and served by the social club of the Eastern Star. One hundred twenty-five members and guests enjoyed the banquet and program and the state officers were present­ ed corsages of colored feath­ ers and real agates made by Veneta Marstall of the “ Back- Acres Garden Club.” The sea decor was vividly presented In the decorations, arranged by Evelyn Molr, Sel­ ma Campbell and Frances Scripture, the local committee, and their helpers, with fish, mermaids, nets, sea horses and other forms of sea life taking thelrproperplaces. Evening play will begin at 8, followed by a free buffet sup­ per, with the continuation of open pairs championship. Play will start Sunday at 1 p.m. with men’s pairs cham­ pionship and women’s pairs championship. This will tie fol­ lowed at 7 p.m. with a mas­ ter’s pair championship where only players with 20 master points may play. In another sec­ tion, all those who have under 20 points may play.
