A salary Increase for the two predatory animal hunters of $500.00 per month plus a transportation allowance of 15? p e r m ile was recommended by the association. Members of the association lauded the work of the men now serving as hunt ers , T im Tlmeus and Tom Shepherd, and feel these men should receive “ a living wage.” The 15? per m ile transportation allowance doesn’t even cover the cost of running a fo ur- wheel drive vehicle over the te rra in these men have to tr a ve l, added a spokesman for the association. Plans for the annual Sheep- herders Picnic and the fa ir barbecue were started. The picnic Is scheduled for June 4 at the Everett Isenhart ranch. The fa ir barbecue w ill fea ture beef and bear meat. This la tte r event has become a tr a ditional tim e to extend the hos pitality of C u rry County citizens to visito rs and to provide a social gathering for local re s i dents. Wool marketing and taxation w ere discussed with recom mendations that the board of d irec to rs explore these further with an eye toward discussing them fully at a future meeting.
