New Milk Prices Asked Gold Beach, Ore—Grade A m ilk prices for producers of M ilk Market Area No. 2 that are the same as those paid producers in Market Area No. L were suggested by the only . handler In Market Area No. 2 at a m ilk hearing held here by the Oregon Department of Agriculture, Sept. 27. The hearing was called Oh the department’ s own motion to consider revision of the min imum prices pakl the producer and bring the prices In line with those paid In California and Market Area No. 1. # was brought out at the hearing that the handler for this area .had been paying the same price to producers as paid In Market Area No. 1 since Aug. 1, 1966, though the minimum prices were s till set at $5.40 per hundred weight f.o.b. to handler’ s "plant for Class 1 3.5% m ilk with a 7.3 cents butterfat differential and $2.90 per hundred weight f.o.b., the handler’ s plant for Class 2 3.5% m ilk. The class 2 butter- fat differential Is 6 cents per point variation above or below 3.5%. Grade A prices to the pro ducers In Market Area No. 1, based on 3.5% m ilk are Class 1, $5.90, and Class 2, $4.10 per hundred weight.
