the Ophir Grange hall.
Bill Crook, president of the

sociation, was present and ask­
ed “ if it were possible for the
Grange members to help serve

vey of member* showed that
most were working at the fair

to do the serving.

omics chairman reported giv­
ing three dinners and also stated
that Curry County Pomona had
put on the lecturer’s program
for the Coos Pomona Grange.
Sixes Grange reported having
several small auctions, and said
that the money was used to pur­
chase a new stove for the kitch­
en.

delegate to the S t a t e Grange
convention in Pendleton, gave
a report.
An announcement was made
that a Senior Citizens group
is being organized in Gold Beach
Aug. 3 at the Masonic Hall at
7:30 p.m. Citizens o v e r 50
years old are invited to par­
ticipate.
A discussion was held con­
cerning the meeting for the
State Grange to be held In Coos
Bay in 1967, in conjunction with
Coos County granges.
The next meeting of the Curry
Pomona Grange will be Sat­
urday, Oct. 30, at 11 a.m. at
the Chetco Grange Hall.
This will be an all-day meet­
ing with dinner at noon. Sixes
grangers are to bring desserts
and the Ophir grangers will
provide salads. An election of
officers will be held.

JUDGES IN MEDFORD
M rs. Eldon Spence, Port Or­
ford, served as a Judge last
week in Medford at the Jack-
son County 4-H club contest.
Mrs. Spence was a Judge of
cooking and knitting and was
im pressed at the vast amount
of entries made by 4-H club
exhibitors taking five full days
to complete the Judging.
Mrs. Spence will be Judging
4-H exhibits at the Coos Coun­
ty F air in Myrtle Point next
week.
BACK FROM VACATION
Donna Churchill returned last
week from an extended vacation
she spent with her daughter and
son-in-law, Mr. and M rs. Geo.
Klkuckl and family in Marquette
which is located in northern
Michigan, and Is a summer re ­
sort area for tourists from all
over the US.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hurr
of Everett, Wash., travelled the
transatlantic highway east to
Ontario, Canada, and south to
Bismark, N. D., where Robert
visited his relatives and the re ­
turn trip was made through
Y e llo w s to n e National Park.

numbers. Fishing has been good
for the past few days as far up­
stream as lobster Creek. Most
.o f the fish are being taken on
drifted nightcrawlers, Inti some
lim it catches on flies have been
reported. The steelhead arc run­
ning a little larger than average
with most of those checked be­
ing In the 16 to 22 Inch range.
