Trained Bear To Appear
A special attraction of the
big July 4th Beachcomber
Daze parade this year w ill be
the appearance of a trained
bear, according to word from
h.s owner. Chief Lone Eagle,
one of the local Indians.
Lone Eagle said he has
been training his pet. who now
measures a little over six feet
when standing, since he found
him as a cub in the nearby
mountains. The bear, called

Humbug after the famous
Humbug Mountain, w ill per­
form such tricks as counting,
playing catch, dancing the
twist and ringing bells.
Besides riding in the parade.
Humbug w ill also be at the
Jaycee Indian Village several
times during the day of the
4th. and may appear at the
Celebration Dance at Battle
Rock gym the night of the
third.
