A l though he expressed regret over his decision he in d ica te d it was only fa ir to the association and lus ia rn ily . He drew no salary from the Association w h ile sur veying the iwoblems co n fro n t ing the Oregon Coast Associa tion. On June 16, he was c a l- le<L along w ith other o ffic ia ls ol the Association, to m eet w ith Governor H a tfie ld to discuss the Scenic Area Board's p o lic y , Masterson furthe r stated that, "th e businesses on the Oregon coast should lend wholelsearted support to this association as t o u r i s t prom otion is h ig h ly c o m p e titiv e an din order to e f fe c tiv e ly sell the area such pro m otio n has to be done on a large scale. " He concluded, "p ros pects on the Oregon coast look e x c itin g although m uch im provem ent can be made. Arizona Ranch Awards Prizes Over 300 guests attended the epen house during the weekend held at the Arizona Ranch operated by Jan and Alta Tweedy. A drawing was held late Sunday afternoon in which Mrs. Lester H ill of Port Or ford won a half gallon of ice crearii as d id " Margaret Bul lard of Gold Beach. L. W. Wells of Port Orford won $3.00 worth of groceries as did Stephanie M ille r of G o ld Beach. Frances Watts of Co quille won a bedspread; Carl Swanson o f Coos Bay won 10 gallons of gasoline as did Howard Rock of the Arizona Ranch.
