Effective at midnight on Sun­
day, May 24th, the official for­
est fire season begins in the Coos
F o r e s t Protective Association
District. Alter this date all op­

However, the humidity regula­
tion will not be put into effect
until a later date.
Because a considerable a-

the forest floor from the Colum­
bus Day and subsequent storms
the public is again urgedtouse

fire in the woods this summer.
Burning permits may be ob­
tained by calling any office of
the Coos Forest Protective As­
sociation listed in the telephone
directory. Those wishing per­
mits should plan to call sever­
al days in advance of when they
w a n t to bum to allow ample
time lor warden inspection.
Other yeas which will also
close at this time include all of
the Coast R ange, Dougl as Coun­
ty, the Siskiyou and Umpqua
National F o r e s ts . Josephine,
Jackson and Klamath counties
