“ I HAVE LIT T LE YELLOW-
BROWN SPOTS ON MY WHITE
CLOTHES, what am I doing
wrong?”
This sounds like iron in the
water which may come from the
pipes or the water supply
To remove the spots, boil the
stained articles in a solution
containing four teaspoons of
cream of ta rta r to each pint of
water. Rinse thoroughly. Don't
use chlorine bleach in wash
water containing iron. This only
makes matters worse.
For more information about
these problems, w rite for our
free Extension fact sheet. "Iro n

ARE YOU SURE YOU’RE
USING THF. RIGHT TYPE OF
WAX for your floor?
At a recent consumer educa
tion program given by county
Extension agents, a number of
homemakers realized the causes
of floor troubles Some of them
had used solvent base wax on
asphalt tile. This w ill soften the
tile and cause colors to smear
The same is true of some rubber
tiles also. Use a water base or
self polishing type of wax on
these floors.
