state Convention of the Future
E a rm e r i of America, at The
Dalles, on March 22.
Seven hundred boys from all
parts of O r e g o n attended the
Convention. E ig h t y of these
hoys were awarded the degree of
State Farmer.
Attending from Pacific were:
Jerry Smith, Ron Roberts, Char­
lie Waterman and Tony Wahl.
They left Wednesday morning,
and returned Saturday evening
The boys were accompanied by
Ernie Davis Vo-Ag teacher at
Pacific.
Jerry is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. [Ion B)erg of Langlois. He
hjsbeen in 4 -H fo r 8 years, and
a m e m b e r of the F. F. A. for
four years.
Jerry has built up a herd of 41
ewes and 40 lambs, he also has
8 dairy cows and 2 palamino
horses.He won the Sweet Jersey
award last year and the Fred
Mt-yer award in 1901; both oi
these awardedcalvrs were reg­
istered Jerseys. Jerry bepan his
4 - H project with a ewe bummer
lamb given to him by his uncle

While attending this Conven­
tion, Charlie W a t e r m a n was
elected District Officer.
