State Future Hom em aker of A m ­
erica convention held at Oregon
State C ollege at Corvallis from
noon last Friday u ntil 2: 30 p. m.
Saturday.
H lg h lite of the convention
was an adebess by Dr. Hester
Turner, Dean of Students at
Lewis and Clarke C ollege, F ri­
day evening. A skit presented
at the same tim e, by AFS stu­
dents, carried out the fifth pur­
pose of FHAj to promote Inter­
national good w ill. The college
choir performed w ith several
selections at the Friday night
banquet.
The president's breakfast on
Saturday morning was attended
by Mrs. Harrison and M ary lou.
Christine was the voting m em ­
ber for the Pacific high chapter.
A ll tiirre stayed at the cooper­
ative Winston House on the c o l­
lege campus.
State officers for the 1963-64
term were e l e c t e d Saturday
morning and installed at lunch­
eon ceremonies.

Mr. Dick Berg, 2CJ school
board member, took five sen­
iors from Pacific high school to
Klam ath Falls on Thursday to
v i s i t Oregon T ech n ical Insti­
tute. They left Port Orford Thurs­
day noon and stayed at the dorm -
atory that night.
Friday morning they were
taken on a tour of seven depart
ments out of the twenty that are
available. The students chose
the departments they were most
Interested in—p rim a rily those
engaged in autom obile mechan
let, welding, drafting, machine
shop, etc.
They returned on Friday a f­
ternoon, after having lunch in
the cafeteria. The tour showed
the young men what is a v a ila b ­
le at O. T . I and the value of
the courses.
