D e e r M r Windmaiser In further reference to our previous correspondence of Au gust 18, I am happy to bring to your attention the attached copy of a report I have just received from the District Engineer con cerning the status of the survey at Port Orford. There was a flag ra.-ing ceremony and a new 50-star flag donated by the ladies auxiliary of the same order The ceremony was conducted as scheduled and the city offi cials accepted this donation by the veteran ’s organization and a ll the care and responsibilities that went with same Now, some month and a half or two months have gone by and someone seems to have neglected their duties My at tention has been celled to the fact that some days the flag is raised at from sun-up to noon— and some days it is not raised at all. Now I am not quite sure who is responsible for this duty of raising and lowering of the flag, but I have been told that is the duty of the police officer in charge. If so I would like to ask my good friend, Police Commis sioner A. Windmaiser to instruct the one in his department to carry out this job as it should be. Thanking you in advance.
