Hawley, who, likewise, is a can didate on the same ticket to succeed himself. Curry county is vitally interested in the return to these two officials to the office to which they aspire in order that the work they are engaged on in furtherance of the development of this region may not be retarded or lost Each of these officials has attained high rank in Congressional and national affairs generally, and the record of each is clear and one of accomplishment. They are wholeheartedly working with the local agen cies for the improvement of the rivers and harbors of this county, and other phases of the development of the region, and, owing to their positions of prestige, committee assignments, power and influence, each should receive the solid republican vote of Curry county. Men are known by their deeds and the unbiased opinion of colleagues, associates and the press gener ally are worthy of consideration in the selection of na tional officials. The following opinions of Senator Steiwer and Congressman Hawley reflect the high es teem in which they are held and are glowing tributes to their ability, prestige, and power in Congressional affairs: Sen ator Steiw er Sen ator Sm oot said: “S enator S teiw er is co n sp icu ou s am o n g the you n ger m en o f th e se n a te H is high ch aracter, his clear ju d gm en t and his ind ustry un ite to m ake him ou t stan d in g.
