When a hawk masquerades as a dove rabbits
must beware of all feathers.—Robert Quillen.
DR. L. R. PUGH
The present political campaign presents no great
issue other than the election of conservative yet pro
gressive men to handle the affairs of the State. It is
a time when the voters should keep their feet on the
ground and not chase off after rainbows. Candidates
who present radical propositions on which to ride into
office are rarely safe candidates to vote for, and in
the present campaign we have both radical candidates
and radical issues. Voters will do well to scan the situ
ation closely and vote for those men and for those
measures whic hwill insure conservatici yet progres
sive government and protect the taxpayers pocket
book. The verdict rests with the voters as to the kind
of governmen they have.
