Pugh of Portland, who have been spend ing a week's vacation in Port Orford, returned to Portland 'Sunday morning. Both Dr. and Mrs. Pugh are lovers of nature and enjoyed every minute of their stay while hore. It is pos sible that they may decide to re turn, Mrs. Pugh being very much in need of a complete rest; her time since her graduation from Hamline university, St. Paul, where she took her Ph.B. degree, and also from the South Dakota State where she graduated Ph. G. and B.S., being fairly evenly divided between pharmacy and medical social work, the latter in St. Paul and New York city. Mrs. Pugh is now doing prescription work In Portland. Dr. Pugh Is a graduate of the North Pacific Dental college. While here Dr. and Mrs. Pugh found a 20| point starfish. Civic Club will be hostesses at the meeting. next Ladies Aid The Ladies aid held their weekly meeting Wednesday af ternoon at the iMcKenzie club room. Mrs. L. R. Pugh of Port land was a guest of the after noon. Mrs. Arthur Sweet, pres ident, presided at the business meeting. Mrs. Fred Scofield re ported on the probable cost of repairing the walk in front of the Community church. It was decided to give further thought to the rhododendron pageant be fore anything definite was un dertaken. The next meeting of the aid will be held Wednesdav afternoon, April 6, at the club room with Mrs. Ed Maloy and Mrs. J. F. Gillings as hostesses. Primary School Notes In building our Health Fairy HouBe the girls have worked harder than the boys this week. Miss Schroeder Is reading us a story about little Metzu and Klne, a little Japanese boy and girl. When you come to visit ub next, you will find Japan on our sandtable instead of Holland. Lucille Lindberg brought us a Japanese costume. We have our April copy of Child Life. Our weather chart tells that we have had more sun than rain in March. The Civic club held its regu lar weekly meeting Thursday. 14 members in attendance. Mrs. L. R. Pugh of Portland was a guest of the afternoon. The busi ness session was presided over by Mrs. Ella Knapp, president. Mrs. M. T. Wright reported the stove pipe put in. The report of the auditing committee of Mrs. Geo. Fromm, chairman, Mrs. Ada Por ter and Mrs. Robert Forty was accepted. No definite action was taken on the rhododendron pageant.
