Simmons of Bandon visited friends in Langlois on Saturday. Geo. Morrison of Portland visit ed in Langlois for a few days last week. Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Zimmerman left Monday for a trip to Flint, Michigan, where they formerly re sided. They expect to be gone for about a month. Mr. and Mrs. Lute Henry will have charge of the Acme Tavern while they are gone. Mrs. Will Smith and Mrs. Josie Thelir. and daughter, all of Oak land, Calif., visited during the past week at the H. B. Smith home. H. B. Smith has been trucking alfalfa from near Roseburg during the past week. He b Morrill has been bringing ground oyster shells from North Bend recently to use on his ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Al Volck were Marshfield visitors Saturday. Mrs. Volck went on to Empire to visit her sister Mrs. Baker. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hoover of Bandon were week end visitors at Walter Hood’s. They and the Hoods picnicked at the Dufort Cranberry bog on Sunday afternoon. Quite a few of the H S pupils have taken advantage of the op portunity to earn a few dollars at the cranberry bogs the last week or two—but it’s not so good for their school work. , This week-end will be the last of the first six weeks of school. Ex amination finals will be held Thurs day and Friday. WOMENS CLUB MEETS The Women’s cub met at the W. O. W’. hall for an all-day ses sion Wednesday. A letter was read from Mrs. Truax and we’re sorry to learn that she is not improving as rapidly as we had hoped.
