We hold that law enforcement of ficials who connive with lawbreak ers are the most dangerous of all criminals. Where such betrayal of trust exists we believe it far more important to secure the conviction and punishments of guilty officials then of the lesser criminals whom they protect. Experience has shown that under uniformly honest admin istration. even tho meagerly support ed by public funds, enforcement of the prohibition law- is comparitively easy. Criminals in office constitute the only really serious menace to the success of prohibition. We believe it the duty of the citi zen. upon becoming aware of the vio lation of law. to give information and assistance to the authorities. If they lack power to act. strengthen their hands. If they are corrupt, re move them from office. Only offi cers can deal with criminals. Only voters can deal with derelict offi< cers.
