It probably makes little difference to the induatry as a whole whether the merger ia into a Wash ington corporation with its headquar ters offices in M'ashington, or into an Oregon corporation with its head quarters in Oregon. It might be re- gaided by the people of Oregon ns making some differences to them, not only in procuring for their own the resilience of the officials and cleri cal help of a headquarters office, but in the prestige of having such an important headquarters located with in their state. It is only fair to the people of Oregon to direct their at tention to the fact and to the effect of an income tax in this state prov ing a factor in diverting the lumber merger headquarters from the state. A state income tax is un added charge which would have to be curried in this state and would not have to be carried in any other Pacific Coast state. “It may be argued that an income tax will reduce property tax. Our experience and observation is it is only an added burden.” -------------- 5-------------- COLLEGE POULTRY FARM GIVES HATCHERY FIGURES CADILLAC SEDAN MILL BE SOLD AT AUCTION BOYS KILL GOATS FOR SHERIDAN FARMER The largo Cadillac sedan which was taken by Sheriff Manning and hia deputies last December for the transportation of liquor in connec tion with tho Armstrong cue, will bo sold at public auction in McMinn ville on Saturday June IH.
