From Tribune File«, June 6. 1919
The picnic held in Dayton Satur
day, May 31st by the dairymen of
this vicinity was well attended in the
ofternoon when the addresses were
delivered in the opera house. There
were some inspiring speeches made
by the speakers from Portland and
Corvallis, and much benefit is ex
pected to be gained from this meet
ing.
Mrs .Scott Edwards, living a couple

and the grand ■weetstake», a 30 lap
race with all contestants entering.
All curs will be classed in two dusse»
which will be decided in the time
trials. Class A. the fastest cars and
Class B. the slower ones, This will
give an opportunity to pit the ears
of equal speed in each race which
will make keener competition and
close finishes and will decide the driv
ing ability of the drivers and their
cars, but in the grand free-for-all
sweepstakes all cars that quality will
be allowed to enter.
The auto races will be subject to
the rules and regulation» of the con
