Any man—on any salary—can aave money. No matter how little

will NEVER save, no matter how big his income may Ite.
And another thing, Bill—didja ever stop to think that YOUR IN

The City of Dayton now sports a nice
new Flag recently purchased for the
City by Clerk Tucker.
THE REASONS
Mis. Grace Inman and neice Mise
Jagger of Portland was greeting their
many friends here Monday last.
All sections of the Portland-Newberg-McMinnville-Sheridan-Willamina-Tilla
mook Highway are paved or under contract for the construction of a permanent highway,
together with the two highways forming an X through Yamhill County from County line
to County line, according to the road programme of the State Highway Commission, except
that portion of the road from Sheridan to Willamina, so why neglect this vital link.
1.
son of each year.
3.
This stretch of road when completed will give an invaluable out-let to Yamhilj
County for its various farm products which Tillamook and Lincoln Counties do not produce
and must have. At present hay and feed for the dairy herds goes by way of Portland and
Hillsboro, at a heavy expense which can be turned to profit to the grower of this County,
thus giving an opportunity for new trade development, both from the standpoint of the
farmer and merchant
4.
Statistics compiled by the State Highway Commission show that the above
highway is third highest in point of travel or traffic in the State of Oregon.
5.
By voting on June 7th, $50,000.00 in bonds, Yamhill County will receive $100,-
000.00 in permanent roads, whose future upkeep will be largely taken care of by the State
of Oregon, with little, if any expense to the County.
6.
Ail that the people of Sheridan and Willamina and surrounding country ask in
suDport of this bond issue is the same fair minded consideration that they have extended
to all other parts of the County when the matter of good roads was at issue.
7.
The $50,000.00 that will be contributed by the State of Oregon for this road,
will not raise the taxes one cent, for the reason, that auto licenses will amply repay both
principal and interest.
8.
Yamhill County, if you vote this bond issue, will get this paved road for one
half the cost price and while paying the one half will get the benefit of the entire road.
9.
Willamina is the only City in the County that is not connected with a paved
road with the County seat, and is for^his »•eason, if for no other entitled to your consider
ation.
a
10.
If YamhiH County does not grasp the opportunity that is here and match this
$50,000.00 offered by the State of Oregon, Yamhill County will be the loser in paved roads
to that amount, as the State Highway Commission is committed to the policy of doing no
more than matching County money, as they have that and better offers from other Coun*
tie« of the State.
