The eveniog passenger train from Portland wa unable to go farther than West Day ton, where it remaiued over night, and returned to Portland next m orn i ng. The oars thrown off track were loaded with lumber, and the track was not cleared of the wreck age until next day, when trains were able to pass and ran on sched- uletime.
