I’ve heard irreverent
Witnesses
And cackling hens
Whisper
’Bout my life
Its decisions
Its twisted moments
And soaring peaks
Were never
Yours to define
Its epic cliff dives
Were never your
Risk to calculate
Truth be told
I wouldn’t trade
These scars
Or that rain-soaked smile
For even one moment
Of your Persian carpet
Or comfort zones
Success is defined
By the author
And it’s my story to tell
Not yours to edit
I threw caution to the wind
In favor of discovery
I found
Woulda coulda and shoulda
Too heavy to carry
So I left them

Next to your saint

All the “keeping up with the Jones’s
you like
Meanwhile

I’ll take feral over fear
