The Darkness I Hide
The Key I See

Darkness, in the trees for the murder of crows
Cold and damp through my hair the wind blows
The shadow that appears and runs and dances from my sight
In the sky the moon is slivered and gives the least of light
Intangible and immaterial are the ghosts by my side
On a sunny day with friends these are my thoughts
It seems
Inside
Discrimination has no place in
any of our conversations
The evidence of dissonance
is clear in all the time we spend
Spreading dirt, which leads to hurt,
sticking to us like a shirt
Sediments that build a fence,
impeding us with bitterness
The path we need is clear to me,
but how do I make others see
Each time we celebrate difference
is one step closer to lasting bliss.
