Saviors
It’s Over
by Avendor
by Sandy J. Tennyson
White clouds
pass on by
like dragon puffs
in the sky
On Good Friday
Peter wept
but on Easter Sunday
Jesus rose from the dead
Had a dream last night a girl
gave me such a surprise
She met me with love
on the Indian roadside
I walked with her in bliss
half the way home
It’s like she loved me
more than any other boy
she’d ever known
Birds chirp
after strong winds
sun come
and shine again
With all that concerns me
I will try
to honor and redeem
my one and only life.
Stop all the clocks, Cut off the telephone.
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone.
Silence the pianos and with a muffled drum,
bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
He was my North, my South, my East, my West,
my working week and my Sunday rest.
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song.
I thought that love would last forever. I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now, put out every one.
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun.
Pour away the ocean and sweep the sand,
for nothing now can ever come to any good.
