Plight of Winter
FARMERS’ MARKET
’
S tre et R oots • April 14-20, 2017
by Heath Cleaveland
WEDNESDAYS 2-7PM
To be alive is to renew
To renew is to reaffirm
That what was has had
Its day and come full term
The sorrow of the living being
Of a kind whose end nearing
Asymptotically as on a graph
Brings effusion in cheap collusion
With what vies for standard fare
In other times and everywhere
The drum of daily life, ousted

By the news that winter
Has yielded the enforced slumber
Of frost and chills that accost
The senses like a sharp knife
We're passionate about helping our community
access healthy food that they can trust. By shopping
at our market, you'll get extra food dollars while
supporting local farmers and community.
Sounds of sneezing, smells
Of pollen, flowers and grass
Day’s light spreading wider
Fir giving way to others’ green
Give thanks to spring for ever
Bringing home the light again.
