Love To Fall
The D ate

The week stretches on
When you’re waiting for love to fall
Bursting to spill, but not for long
Suffering for hope so small
Then,
A bird carries hope so large
You forget where you left your shoes
Only left to stumble, waiting for a charge
The obsession begins to creep, begins to move
Then you welcome the daze
Sleeplessness becomes your mistress
Hope grows so dim until you see you’re crazed
New distraction sees an end to this
Fear and regret
Ran my life to the ground.
It left a shallow man.
I could have fought, alas
I did not.
Now I lie here
With nowhere to go.
