I, Mage
I’m Tripping
by Saoirse Bell
by Kemik Elies
Faceless on Facebook said,
“If you w ant to know why Hillary lost,
Look in th e m irror, Saoirse Bell.”
So I looked in th e m irro r th a t I know so well, and this is w hat I saw:
I, MAGE, I am a natural daughter o f Gaia
Like th e Moon, my older sister
In th e left of th e scrying m irror
B ut she, th e etern al spinster,
G oes spinning round and round,
N ever bearing, never settling down.
I, MAGE, I am a natural m other,
B een gotten w ith child,
Like all th e forgotten others,
Going back into th e wild.
And w hen we b e ar again our natural rights
T he jig will be up w ithout a fig h t
And BTW, #shegotm orevotes
Prima Facie
by Daniel Cox
This old soul is shrouded
in mystery. A m yriad of Myrmidon.
Follow it down
near the heart of tlae matter
there stands a burnt out rebel.
An iconoclast.
Maybe hallucinations are only w hat’s real
No appeal
I seal th e deal in ord er to conceal
T he frailties I’ve revealed
M olten lava th e ending meal.
Skin peel
And th e steel
Is gaining.ground as I deal
With devilish hosts
My calibration coasts
Brevity boasts
Total control of th e roast
B ut deities deviate
T he realities delegate
God players continue to create
Versions of them selves to complicate.
Claiming they innovate.
While only shouldering shattered states of
existence
T he persistence of tim e p erm eates
Never rejuvenates
Because tim e itself
It never waits
For you for m e
We ru n for tim e
We laugh for time
We graph our time
But we can never seem
To recap the time
Because we’ve, cashed
Our time.
