It’s a wrap with the Street Roots writers group
treet Roots wrapped up its 12-part, creative-writing workshop
with Write Around Portland on April 16. Over the course of
the workshops, 20 S tre et Roots vendors attended and
experienced Writer Around Portland’s philosophy-of respect, writing
and community, exercising and expanding their skills in poetry and
prose. Many thanks to Lara Bjork, the Write Around facilitator, for
her dedication to the group.
All participants in Write Around workshops have a chance to get
their work published in the Write Around Portland anthology and
will have a chance to share their work at a public reading at 6:30
p.m., May 29 at First United Methodist Church.
Street Roots has been hosting a weekly creative writing
workshop for pur vendors every Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. since
2011. That workshop is back in full swing.
