Who, What, Where,
When? Why?
By Eric Bradley
Who, who am I supposed to be?
My reflection is never the same
Apparently I’ll never really see
Who is certainly not a game.
Why?
By Melissa Vliet
What, what am I supposed to do?
Never can I find the start
To end the old, to begin anew
Piece together what’s torn apart.
As anger runs through my veins
And depression runs through my blood
My mind moves to know what my heart tries to deign
Can you rip my hurt from my heart?
To leave me bleeding and to cry
For my heart beats for a love I cannot have
A love that is untrue
Why? Why do I give you my heart?
To rip and shred for your delight
The pain you put me through
The years of pure agony
The love I thought was there
Was just to fill your lust
And I let myself love you!
Why? Why? Why did I love you?
Confused with love!
Where, where am I supposed to go?
I’ve looked and searched far and near
Nowhere fast, somewhere slow
To find again what I held dear.
When, when is it all supposed to end?
As time does pass my pain increased
Suffering each turn and bend
Over maybe when I am deceased.
Why, Why am I really here?
Nothing ever seems right
Never does it seem fair
Now I’m quickly losing sight
Becoming blurry, not to clear
Should I really stay and fight
Or runaway into the night?
Moving Onward
By Michone Nettles
Wishing for a new look at life
And the changes it may bring
The people on the planet are mixed
With several bloodlines
That intersect into one
Like traveling that road
Winding through
Life’s curves and turns
Reaching the destination
Pursued through mind travel
Feeling as one
A branch falls after a harsh winter!
Sun bringing color
Out of the darkness
That’s been present for past months.
As we also emerge out of the woodwork
Seeking sun, water light, food, love, romance,
Socialization and the ongoing need for survival!
Knowing not what the next second might bring,
We look forward
To another day of life
To be enjoyed, loved, cherished and lived
To the fullest!
