Energy and spark
by Hot Child in thè City
Got up this morning, looked in the mirror, what did I see
My hair had streaks of grey, how could this be
I plan my day now as the mind of the young
But my body won’t keep up, and the song is unsung
I read the paper and say things are a mess
Drink my coffee, and then get dressed
I meet a friend and we talk of old times
When we could buy things for nickels and dimes
The world is changing, that is for sure
Technblogy arrived with the greatest of lure
The Information Revolution has taken its place
In history, and now it’s a race
This generation faces decisions not known to the past
It is hard to relate, when the dye has'been cast
What has meaning to the young, has meaning to the old

and benefits, not cuts!
For in the past, the future is told
I hear the laughter as we walk through the park
The children are running with joy, energy and spark
Parents are taking time to watch what they say
After all, it is April Fool’s Day!

EIGHT MILLION JOBS were lost in the 2008 meltdown. Today there are more than five job
seekers for every job. Congress should focus on creating jobs, n o t cutting the safety net!
Let’s stand up for community values!
• Create good jobs now-siop job-killing trade
agreements.
• Protect and strengthen the safety net.
• Support collective bargaining as 15,000 workers
launch campaign for fairness at work in Portland.
• Wall Street should pay for the economic crisis,
- not working people!
